Unusual Places to Enjoy Casino Games

With mobile technology taking the word by storm, it has become a common sight to see people with their noses pointed at screens, oblivious to the world around them. Teenagers can be spotted standing in groups, not acknowledging each other in the slightest, while even adults are guilty of the same behaviour. Yes, it is certainly seen as a problem by many, and it’s difficult to deny the habit, especially given the circumstances in which people can be spotted doing it.

We, however, were more then a little curious to know how many of those guilty of the behaviour were playing mobile casino games, and decided to have a look at some of the more common but unusual situations in which people snuck in a few rounds of poker, or a few spins of the roulette wheel. This is what we discovered, and the results are interesting to say the least!

Bathroom Breaks

One of the more interesting statistics of sneaky casino game playing is the reoccurrence of bathrooms. Many people admit that they not only take their phone to the bathroom with them, but also that they occasionally use bathroom breaks as a sneaky excuse to get in a few minutes of gaming time.

Many at work, who are too cautious to play games while actually on the job, say they will claim they are going to the bathroom, only to sit in a stall and play on their phone. Hey, no judgement from us, we like a few sneaky minutes of poker playing as much as the next person!

Even more interesting, however, was that a few people said they do the same thing at home. Those who live in a household with strict rules about mobile phone gaming say they will nip off the bathroom to be out from under the watchful eyes of their wife, husband, or whoever else might be the rule maker of the family.

Sofa Multitasking

Remember the good old days, when the only screen people used to complain about was the television screen? Don’t watch that thing all day or your eyes will go square? Many people admit that they sit in front of the television, only to ignore what’s showing and play games on their phone instead!

This, we like to think, is a situation people from just two decade ago would laugh at, and yet is now a common occurrence all over the world. What’s better then one screen? Two screens, of course! Hats off to those who can actually follow the plot of the movie, while still raking in the loot at a virtual poker table. That is some seriously impressive multitasking, and certainly something that deserves recognition. Next try mastering reading a book while playing casino games, or cooking a 3-course meal.

The Great Outdoors

It must be said that many don’t exercise as much as they should, and those who keep fit should have the admiration and respect of those around them. What if, however, you went on a hike, only to spend the entire journey with your nose glued to your smartphone screen? The notion would likely infuriate nature lovers, but it can’t be denied the person is at least still getting the benefits of exercise.

After all, you wouldn’t frown on a person who ran on the treadmill at the gym, while simultaneously playing mobile casino games, would you? For some, the only way they enjoy any form of exercise is if they have a distraction, and a mobile device offers the perfect accompaniment to riding an exercise bicycle to nowhere!

Public Transport Gaming

Public transportation is well known for being boring, stuffy, and awkward, and is perhaps the most acceptable place to sit on your phone and ignore those around you. A few words must be said, however, about those who do so with the volume on their phone turned up to full. An amusingly large number of people report that they are driven to near insanity by a person on the bus or train who obliviously plays casino games with the sound at full blast.

Its true that some slots games have rather pleasant ambient music, and those nearby may even appreciate it, poker games, on the other hand, tend to be rather minimal in the music department, and extremely excessive in the repetitive sound effect department. Imagine having to listen to the repeating jingle of a bet being placed for a thirty-minute commute?

Our conclusion for this list would be a simple one; where you play your mobile phone is really up to you, but we would draw the line at doing so in a cinema, or at a wedding. But we can suggest that if you are feeling inclined when at the movies or friend’s nuptials, sneak off to the toilet and get in some gaming time!
